About Zink Metal Art
My name is Charlotte Mary Zink. I was born and raised in
New Orleans, Louisiana and have made Colorado my home since 1987. I
received a BA in Studio Arts and teaching certification from the
University of Colorado, Boulder.
Art has been an essential part of my life for as long as
I can remember. I’m so grateful to spend my waking, working
hours doing something I truly love, with the total support of my family
and friends.
In years past I’ve focused on watercolor, mask
making and hand made paper. Since 1998 I have been drawing,
painting and sculpting metal with the help of my incredible partner,
Ben. Collaboration has taught us so much about the creative process and
ourselves. All the pieces in our unique collection of metal
artwork are joyfully created together. I draw the designs free hand
directly onto the sheet of metal, and Ben hand cuts each one with a
plasma cutter. We work together on sculpture design and the variety of
different finishes available.
My impression is that we all have art in us, but many
shut it down way too early. Drawing, singing, writing, dancing,
whichever you choose, encourage yourself and those around you to turn
it on. Let it out. Share your story. Make time and a space for
creativity in your life.
